Career: Born and raised in Italy, Graduate of Palermo University of Fine Art in Italy with BA in Fine Arts and Art History; Saginaw Valley State University graduate in Art Education K-12 and Spanish World language with 6-12 certification for the State of Michigan. The first mission that God gave me, was teaching Italian to college students at Utah State University and then at Northwood University in Michigan. God also took me to a new place, teaching E.S.L, "English as a Second Language” to children and very young minds from all over the world. The children in this program blessed me and inspire me to be a full time K-12 teacher and to serve even more children. I know that in all of this I was guided by our Father in Heaven in dedicating and preparing young children for their future.
Comments: I am married with the only and one love of my life. Together we have 3 boys; two of the 3 are married. We have 4 granddaughters and 1 grandson. We are grateful to God to have such a beautiful family. Working for Algoma Christian is an amazing Christian adventure; every day brings you Christian inspiration and strength. I feel honored to work at Algoma with great colleagues and staff. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to work with children and parents and being part of this beautiful Christian family and community.

After subbing a few times at ACS, I was asked to be a full-time aide in the 2nd grade room. I love spending time in the classroom and at recess building relationships with ACS students. My husband, Craig, graduated from Algoma Christian. My son, Cody, is currently in 2nd grade here at ACS. Besides teaching, I enjoy fixing our house, kayaking, reading, crocheting, and music. I am so very blessed and excited to be here!

Lindsey Smith, BA -- Sixth Grade Teacher
Career: Bachelor of Arts, from Cornerstone University. I triple minored in elementary education, physical education, and reading. ACSI Certificate. I have taught at ACS since 2011. My experiences consist of teaching elementary physical education, athletic director, elementary computer teacher, and 6th grade science teacher. Since 2016, I have been the elementary 6th grade teacher.
Comments: Phone: 616-678-7480 Ext: 118After graduating from Cornerstone in the Spring of 2010, I began looking for a teaching job. Having grown up attending Charlotte Public Schools, I greatly appreciated the Christian atmosphere around Cornerstone. I decided to begin looking and applying at Christian schools. Algoma Christian School came up and they were looking for a PE position. I immediately loved the close-knit staff and the family-like environment of the school. After receiving a part-time PE position at Algoma, I knew I was where God wanted me to be. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to teach God's word everyday to my classes. Following this, God opened up a full time teaching position for me in the fall of 2015. It gives me great joy to experience all the new challenges and rewarding experiences that come with teaching. I am overjoyed to invest my time in Christian education and pour God's love into the lives of students at Algoma to help them become true disciples!

Angie Skelonc, BS -- Math 8-12, Secondary Lead Teacher
Phone: 616-678-7480 Ext: 137
Career: Bachelor of Science, from Wright State University. In process of completing additional graduate classes from Ferris State University.
Comment: Algoma Christian School has been an important part of my life. I started teaching here in 2012, part-time, and then full-time since 2013. I attended ACS as a student through fourth grade and have many fond memories of past teachers and classes at Algoma. My husband and I live in the Sand Lake area with our three children who also attend ACS. After moving back from Ohio and having three small children, I thought my teaching days might be over. God had other plans for me, and now I have the privilege of teaching at Algoma. I can impact children's lives here at ACS just as past teachers did for me. God is so good!
